Darksiders II is an action role-playing[2][3] hack and slash video game developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ. It is the sequel to Darksiders and was released in August 2012 for Microsoft WindowsPlayStation 3Xbox 360[4] and as a launch title for Wii U upon the console's Australian, European, and North American release in November 2012. An enhanced version, titled Darksiders II The Deathinitive Edition, was published by THQ Nordic for the PlayStation 4Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. A sequel, Darksiders III, is currently slated for release in 2018.
Players take control of Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The core gameplay is an action role-playing[2][3] hack and slash style. The game makes frequent use of interactive puzzle elements, requiring the player to think their way through a series of levers, doors, elevators, portals, etc. in order to traverse areas and reach objectives.
Maps are vast and each contain open world "overworld" regions that can be explored freely on foot or by horse, along with numerous dungeons where quest objectives are generally carried out. There are main and side quests, with main and side boss fights. Worlds can be traversed via fast travel, whereby the player can teleport to certain map points instantly. While inside a dungeon, the player is allowed to fast travel back to the overworld while saving their dungeon location for continuation later without losing progress.
Death is aided by Despair, a horse that is available for use in open areas of the overworld for faster travel, and Dust, a raven that guides him to his objectives. Death's primary weapons are two scythes, one wielded in each hand. Secondary weapons include melee weapons like hammers, axes, and maces as "slow" options; "fast" options are generally gauntlet-style weapons that provide the player with claws and other bladed arm extensions, at the expense of less range and power than the slow weapons

Darksiders is an action role-playing hack and slash video game developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ. The game takes its inspiration from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, with the player taking the role of the horseman War. The game was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 5, 2010 in North America, January 7 in Australia, January 8 in Europe, and March 18 in Japan. The Microsoft Windows version was released in North America and Australia on September 23, and in Europe on September 24. A parallel sequel, Darksiders II, was released on August 14, 2012.
An enhanced version of the game titled Darksiders: Warmastered Edition was released on November 22, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on November 29, 2016 for Microsoft Windows. A Wii U version was released on May 23, 2017.
In Darksiders, players take control of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, in a third-person perspective.[10] The world is divided into separate locations with many areas initially inaccessible until later in the game. The center of the world, The Scalding Gallow, acts as a hub where War is given new objectives and paths to unlock new areas, many of which require the use of newly gained abilities to progress.
Although War is initially limited to the use of his two-handed signature sword, Chaoseater, he will eventually obtain other weapons throughout the course of the game. He also has a Scythe, which he uses as his other main offensive weapon. Weapons have different combinations of attack that can be obtained throughout the game. Along with combos, players are encouraged to use countering moves, blocks, and swift dodging. Projectile weapons such as a revolver and a boomerang-style throwing blade can also be used. Objects littered throughout the environment can also be used as weapons and projectiles. At a later point in the game, War gains the ability to summon a horse that provides faster movement and increased attack power.

Dark Souls III[a] is an action role-playing video game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment for PlayStation 4Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. The fourth entry in the Souls series,[1] Dark Souls III was released in Japan in March 2016, and worldwide in April 2016.[2]
Dark Souls III was critically and commercially successful, with critics calling it a worthy and fitting conclusion to the series. The game became Bandai Namco's fastest selling game in their history, selling over three million copies worldwide two months after release. A complete version containing the base game and both downloadable content expansions, titled Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades, was released in April 2017.
Dark Souls III is an action role-playing game played in a third-person perspective, similar to previous games in the series. According to lead director and series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game's gameplay design followed "closely from Dark Souls II".[3] Players are equipped with a variety of weapons to fight against enemies, such as bows, throwable projectiles, and swords. Shields can act as secondary weapons but they are mainly used to deflect enemies' attacks and protect the player from suffering damage.[4] Each weapon has two basic types of attacks, one being a standard attack, and the other being slightly more powerful that can be charged up, similar to FromSoftware's previous game, Bloodborne. In addition, attacks can be evaded through dodge-rolling.[5] Bonfires, which serve as checkpoints, return from previous installments.[6] Ashes, according to Miyazaki, play an important role in the game.[7] Magic is featured in the game, with a returning magic system from Demon's Souls, now known as "focus points" (FP). When performing spells, the players' focus points are consumed. There are two separate types of Estus Flasks in the game, which can be allotted to fit a players' particular play style. One of them refills hit points like previous games in the series, while another, newly introduced in Dark Souls III, refills focus points.[8] Combat and movements were made faster and more fluid in Dark Souls III,[9][10] with several players' movements, such as backstepping and swinging heavy weapons, able to be performed more rapidly,[11] allowing players to deal more damage in a short period of time.[5]
Throughout the game, players encounter different types of enemies, each with different behaviors. Some of them change their combat pattern during battles.[4] New combat features are introduced in Dark Souls III, including weapon and shield "Skills", which are special abilities that vary from weapon to weapon that enable unique attacks and features, at the cost of focus points.[4] The game places more focus on role-playing, in which the character builder is expanded and weapons are improved to provide more tactical options to players.[12] The game features fewer overall maps than its predecessor Dark Souls II, but they are larger and more detailed, which encourages exploration.[6] The adaptability stat from Dark Souls II was removed in Dark Souls III, with other stats being adjusted.[6] The game features multiplayer elements, like the previous games in the series.

Crysis 3 cover.jpg

Crysis 3 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft WindowsPlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Officially announced 16 April 2012, it is the third main installment of the Crysis series, a sequel to the 2011 video game Crysis 2. The multiplayer portion of the game was developed by Crytek UK.
Set in the year 2047, the game takes place in New York City, which has been encased in a giant Nanodome created by the corrupt CELL corporation, and turned into a veritable urban rainforest. Crysis 3's story revolves around Alcatraz, Prophet's successor, and a Nanosuit holder who is on a quest to take revenge on the Alpha Ceph, the leader of the Ceph alien race, with the help of Prophet's former comrade, Psycho. The game's story serves as the end of the Crysis trilogy. Gameplay revolves around the use of the Nanosuit, which grants players a variety of abilities such as being invisible. New features introduced in Crysis 3 include a new Nanosuit ability called "Rip & Throw", a new compound bow and the "hacking" feature, which allows players to hack into enemies' equipment, drones, and automated security defenses.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic New York City, in an effort to combine the urban landscape of Crysis 2 and the forest setting of the original Crysis. The game introduces the "Seven Wonders", with each wonder having its own unique landscape and tactical layout. Due to complaints about Crysis 2's linearity, the game's levels were opened up so as to grant players more freedom. The development team also put efforts into creating a more emotional story, and the story's protagonist, Alcatraz, was inspired by the lead character of District 9. The game was developed by a team of 100 people during its 23 month development cycle.
Crysis 3 was met with positive reception after its release. Praise was directed at the game's level design, visuals and multiplayer, while it was criticised for its story and length. With a budget of $66 million, the game sold 205,000 copies in its debut month, and became a commercial failure for Electronic Arts. The game was later included in The Crysis Trilogy, a bundle released on 20 February 2014.

Crysis is a first-person shooter video game series developed by German developer Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. The series revolves around a group of military protagonists with "nanosuits," technologically advanced suits of armor that allow them to gain enhanced physical strength, speed, defense, and cloaking abilities. The protagonists face off against hostile North Korean soldiers, heavily armed mercenaries, and a race of technologically advanced aliens known as the Ceph, who arrived on Earth millions of years ago for unclear reasons, and have recently been awakened.
The series consists of three main installments, a standalone spinoff of the first game with a separate multiplayer title, and a compilation.
Characters in Crysis use nanosuits, advanced powered exoskeletons developed by the military that grant them special abilities. "Maximum Armor" enhances the suit's ability to withstand bullet and shrapnel impacts, "Maximum Strength" greatly enhances the wearer's physical strength, to the point of being able to punch cars through the air; and "Maximum Speed" allows the wearer to run and act extremely fast. "Cloak" activates the suits cloaking device that makes the user near-invisible.
The first two games, Crysis and Crysis Warhead, take place in 2020 on the fictional Lingshan Islands, off the Philippines. The protagonists of both games both belong to "Raptor Team," a United States special forces operation that is sent to the island to investigate aggressive behavior by North Korea. The player uses various weapons, including traditional projectile weapons like handgunssubmachine gunsassault rifles, and sniper rifles (all of which can be modified with scopes and attachments in real time), as well as explosives and the nanosuit's natural abilities. Multiplayer gameplay modes introduce fictional futuristic weapons based on the ice technology introduced by the alien antagonists who reside on the island. In single-player, Raptor Team faces off against both the North Korean military and these alien foes.
Crysis 2, the sequel to the original game, takes place in 2023 in New York City, where characters from the previous games appear or are mentioned, but the protagonist is a new character, a US Marine named Alcatraz. The nanosuit in the game (dubbed "Nanosuit 2") is a streamlined version of the original, without separate "strength" and "speed" modes, rather performing context-sensitive acts of enhanced strength or agility, although it retains the separate "armour" and "stealth" modes.

Counter-Strike Source (box art).jpg
Counter-Strike: Source retains its team-based objective-orientated first-person shooter style gameplay. The aim of playing a map is to accomplish a map's objective: defusing the bomb, rescuing all hostages, or killing the entire opposing team. The ultimate goal of the game is to win more rounds than the opposing team. Once players are killed, they do not respawn until the next round, though this depends on which server people play on. This gameplay feature distinguishes Counter-Strike from other first-person shooter games, where players respawn instantly or after a short delay.
Shooting while moving dramatically decreases accuracy, and holding the trigger down to continuously shoot produces severe recoil. The severity of damage induced by weaponry is dependent upon the specific locations of hits, with hits to the head being most lethal and shots which make contact elsewhere causing lesser loss of health. Damage is also affected by the distance, and if the target wears protection.ounter-Strike: Source was initially released as a beta to members of the Valve Cyber Café Program on August 11, 2004.[2][3] On August 18, 2004, the beta was released to owners of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero as well as those who had received a Half-Life 2 voucher bundled with some ATI Radeon video cards.[4] The game was included with Half-Life 2 bundles, which were released on November 16, 2004.[5]
On October 11, 2006, Valve released an experimental update entitled Dynamic Weapons Pricing. Under this system, item prices are determined based on their demand the previous week.[6][7][8]
On March 5, 2010, Valve Corporation announced the release of games from its first-party library, including games from the Counter-Strike series, for Mac OS X. The ports were slated for release in April 2010.[9] Valve employed Hidden Path Entertainment to provide support on updating Counter-Strike: Source. On May 7, 2010, Valve released an update that includes new features and functionality developed in collaboration with Hidden Path Entertainment. These include 144 (now 146) new achievements, a new domination and revenge system, similar to that of Team Fortress 2, player stats, an upgrade to the Source engine and more. On June 23, 2010, Valve released the beta to the public alongside the promised OS X version.[1] On February 5, 2013, Valve released a port of Counter-Strike: Source for Linux
