The first female main character of the series is Aveline de Grandpré, an American assassin with French and African roots. The game mostly plays in Louisiana during the Seven Years War in North America . The game is about the defense of the city of New Orleans , which is attacked by Spaniards. In addition, the main character searches for evidence of the mother who disappeared many years ago. The city is taken over by a surprise defeat by the Spaniards.
